Cake Maker in Milton Keynes
As a cake maker in Milton Keynes, I have the opportunity to make cakes for distinctive celebrations and events throughout Buckinghamshire, Bedfordshire, Northamptonshire, and beyond. From elegant weddings at beautiful venues like Horwood Estate to delightful first birthday parties in Northampton, I had the chance to design cakes for a wonderful variety of events throughout 2019. Here are some of my personal favourites:
This delightful little cake was the last one of 2019, and one of my most favourite cakes to date! The inspiration for this came from a beautiful image of buckets full of delicate lavender scabious and little blossoms in white and the richest shade of violet. I felt that this image had to be captured in cake form and really enjoyed making the delicate scabious flowers that are the stars of the show in this pretty cake design.
Delivered to the stunning Horwood Estate, this tall and beautiful cake really is the epitome of timeless elegance. I loved the delicate colour palette of ivory and blush pink, which suits this particular cake design perfectly and is also a perfect match for the lovely Eyre Suite at Horwood Estate. When I deliver my cakes to such beautiful venues I feel very lucky to be a cake maker in Milton Keynes!
This gorgeous cake was for a fifth birthday party. The little girl who it was for loves flowers and butterflies, and of course pink, all of which had to be included in the cake design!
Nothing beats the classic elegance of an all-white wedding cake! Strangely enough I don’t often get requests for all-white cakes, but I hope that this will change in 2020 with more couples gravitating towards a ‘clean and classic’ look for their wedding.
Colour was definitely on-trend in 2019, and it looks like it will be for some time! An increasing number of couples are opting for deep colours, including navy blue and even black. With a rich base colour like navy blue, you really don’t need much else on a cake other than delicate flowers in the softest of pastel shades to create a striking contrast.
The second last cake of 2019, Rose Blush is a classic example of elegant simplicity! The delicate pale pink roses were amongst my favourites, and were the perfect accent colour for a classic white wedding cake.
I used to get quite nervous at the idea of incorporating the colour red into my cake designs, but after a few successful experiments with display cakes I now love a bit of red! Burgundy Romance is a great example of how a pop of colour is enough to really lift a cake design, and looks wonderful in photographs! Red is becoming especially popular and I already have a number of weddings in 2020 where it is one of the main theme colours.
